This is long overdue. A lot of things have changed over the past few months. Everyone has moved on. Friendships have dissolved, problems have formed, and the drive to do work and keep this blog going has died down. It was a way to stay in touch and keep everyone updated as to what we were doing.
Ed moved to Oklahoma over the summer due to family issues, and this wast weekend he returned to Richmond to visit. We had a lot to catch up on and it made me remember what last year was like. anyway.

I still draw it's funny. I hate that i dont have a camera. I resorted to using a Scanner these look like shit i apologize.

This made me laugh. So I added them as our friends. Look for Elyse and Amy it's funny. Basically a blog of a person going around taking pictures of people they think are "Fashionable."

School year is about to begin. I believe everyone should be moving back to Richmond in a matter of a few weeks. Not a lot has happened over the summer break. Everyone worked on their own little projects, but from my understanding there was nothing amazing that was note worthy. Maybe this is just me speaking for myself. I have plenty of ideas that I would like to work on but no incentive to work on them. Maybe when classes start and I am forced to do something then I'll do it but until then I'm content with being unproductive and just hanging out. See you all in a few weeks. And I guess I hope we begin to be as productive as we were the last semester of our freshman year pulling in pieces from the different departments we were all accepted to.

The other day I was told that the members of Valiant Zebra were talented. This made me laugh but I guess it's cause I'm a "Douche" , but I guess that they were right. Cause as I looked through the posts we had made that didn't consist of Ed's long narratives or Elyse's boredom we do have some pretty decent stuff. I guess all I'm saying is. Keep it up.

Edit-

I never posted this, but it's old and i finally found the picture of it. This is a skateboard I carved out with the help of Hunter.

It's been a while since anyone has posted on this blog. I don't think it's dead by any means I just feel that the summer has started and people have seperated to do their own things. We have all grown to become busy with jobs and family. Since I have absolutly nothing to show for the time I have been home I have decided to post pictures from the last 2 weeks or so that we were all at school together.

Today, I rode over to Hunter’s feeling awful, I was trying to get my phone back, but he wasn’t home. A cop slowed to a stop in the intersections of Lombardy and Monument and I stopped since it was a red. He motioned me to go through but I waved jumpy towards the signal light and mouthed “Red Light”; it was an iffy but it then turned green. As I was turning I looked back down Monument and saw a Confederate Flag levitation perfectly in the air—the kind of impossible, blot out the sun Confederate Flag. It was a damn gorgeous day so I rode Park up to find out what this was. There were scattered old men sitting on their stairways but around me was a quiet crowd of about thirty people in armchairs, we watched them walk by. Line formations passed, pointing flags and rifles and swords to their chin. And their grandmother wives were behind them in stuffy dresses tugging along kids with brand new canteens and baskets; and everywhere a sea of Confederate paraphernalia. Most of them walked pass staring into history, but some would lock eyes with you and say syrupy “I’m…so...proud you made it out today” so you can feel sin and things. Someone was holding a sign, “Sons of Confederate Veterans.” I knew I didn’t feel like approaching any of the elephantine issues with the picture so I wondered off counting the DSLRs around me. But then it turned into a kind of parade with a wheeled cannon being dragged by a Kia SUV. Then a abnormally massive Chevy truck...which apparently are real...passed full of pageant girls, C-flag and VT magnets stuck to the doors. Ehhh. There was also a racing buggy booming around with 1-800-MY-DIXIE painted on it. I don’t know what that means. The day was still bright and I felt so much more rested sitting here; I thought...“all the good ideas everywhere."

I'm happy to say that we all got into the majors we wanted. Hunter got accepted to sculpture, I got into Communication arts, Elyse got into Fashion Design, and Jamie was accepted into Painting & Printmaking. The two members of zvc that have yet to activate or recieve their invites are Amy Williams, and Stuart Dumais, but Amy was accepted into Photography and Stuart was accepted into Communication Arts. Congrats to everyone that got accepted into their majors.

Besides all that school nonsense. Hunter is baking. That is all.

This week will revolve around random doodles, stupid studio assignments. And a quest to "find the fun."

so i got this tight little 8 color watercolor set over break, the kind that 5 year olds can master within 20 minutes, and tonight i started getting into it. i realized that this is probably what i needed right now, a breather from all of the school / work / life business and just get back to what first sparked my interest in art in the first place. i dont care that this picture is lame, or that it has no real value; i only want to show it because it was this little watercolor set and a marker that kept me busy for no apparent reason the entire night other than the fact that i wanted to do it. this is what's been lacking in school; no motivation to do anything for yourself anymore, only the faculty's bullshit assignments and the endless amounts of work that go hand in hand with them. that's pretty much it, though, i spent the night walking around and every now and then coming back to my apartment to paint what i had just thought about. this is the product. it's not fantastic, but that's not what really mattered anyways.

So the week has come where Hunter and I will be able to show off our work at Plant Zero with some more legit artists. Though no one reads this but those that post on it I feel it necessary to post because in my head I find that eventually people will read this and they will realize that we aren't that shitty. Hunter and I decided on doing a few collaborative panels. So i believe those are all the pieces we will be putting up. We plan to complete on a day and we most likely not take photographs and post them on here. So to those of you who i'm sure is a very, very, very small group of people that read this you should attend the fourth friday show at plant zero.

Besides that and diving into things that deal more with school. Our portfolios are due next week. We are going to be putting those together and hoping to get into our respected majors.

Hi, I'm Ed. If you're wondering how I got on this crew, well, clearly I bugged them relentlessly until...they buckled. Few things about me: I'm monotone, I love hot sauce, and I make awkward comments. But recently I've been doing some stencils, some of them can be "live".

Seeing that I was very bored one day, Hunter took it on himself to show me how to make a stencil. That night I made Kyp of TV on the Radio from a two-page spread in Fader magazine.

I was more than stoked.

Two days later there was Michael Caine. Hunter added the on-point yellow outlining.

I'll post more of my stencils when they're finished and probably whenever I'm drunk too. I've realized I really need to step my game up, so stay on this blog; upcoming ideas include: "A Love Triangle", "Apocalyptic Nude", "Oedipus Rex", and "Gods".

We have another show coming up at the end of March. It's on a fourth friday along with other artists in the gallery. The artists that will be shown in our room will include Myself, Hunter (zebrahead), Stuart Dumais (who will be added to the team soon), and our friend Sam V. Nothing of grave importance has occured in the last few weeks. We added our friend Ed to the team due to the fact that he makes some "live ass" stencils. Hopefully he will see this post and decide to upload those pictures and share them.

So over the past week Hunter and I have researched giving tattoo's. As we learned more about it we realized we had the materials to give them ourselves. So we prepared the entire week and then Friday night we decided to make out attempt. At first it was difficult to find other people other then Hunter and myself to actually recieve the tattoo's but as the week progressed we found others considering it. Our Friend Drew Jacobs and Jessica Crawford. Here are some pictures.

[This was our meal before hand. Cookies. We also had a pizza but I didn't take a picture of it.]

[This is Hunter at work on my tattoo. Yeah it hurt pretty bad and I was being a baby about it. Stuck a bandana in my mouth]

[This is me giving Hunter his tattoo. It turned out kind of shitty cause I was too nervous about breaking someones skin. And I felt like an asshole the entire time as im sure Hunter did while doing mine]

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

[I couldn't find any good pictures of me giving Drew his but here is a picture of Hunter giving Jessica a heart.]

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

[This is Victor. He supplied the drinks.]

[And this is Elyse. She cry's a lot.]

I have a picture of my tattoo haven't gotten pictures of the others yet, but in the end I got a bomb on my ankle Hunter got a Diamond on his, Drew got a guy in a costume asleep on his calf, Jessica got a hear on her arm.
